Open Farm Day – October 31,2020

Our Farm’s open hours are designed for you to come meet the alpacas and have fun in the sun with my fuzzy friends. This is a free event open to the public. Please note that parking is limited and there are no public restrooms on the property. Here are some helpful hints to make your experience more enjoyable.

• Make sure you dress for the weather.
• Please DO NOT OPEN THE GATES, no matter what the boys say!
• We want you to have fun and be safe, so please be respectful to the animals, remember this is their home.
• If you walk behind one of the alpacas, please say “Excuse me” so they know you are there.
• We know meeting the alpacas is exciting but if you are calm, they will be too. – Alpacas are prey animals and will defend themselves and their cria (baby) if they are threatened.
• Please do not walk up behind the alpacas and touch them on the butt, their natural reaction when scared is to kick or spit.
• Alpacas are very protective of their hairdos and they will get upset if you try and touch it. Please pet them on the back of the neck to avoid any confrontation.
• If you would like to feel one of our fluffy friends, please make sure you talk to Rebecca. She can help you to have a safe experience.
• Hand feeding the alpacas will happen at the top of every hour.
• Our sheep are very friendly and enjoy being petted under the chin. Tony Stark is our ram and he will greet you at the fence.
• Our rooster’s name is Nubbins, he will not chase you so please do not chase him or his girls.
• If you have any questions about our amazing animals, please make sure to talk to Rebecca.
• We make a lot of amazing things from our sheep and alpaca fleece, please make sure you visit the farm store to see what is new and say “Hi” to Kyra.

If you stick to these few friendly tips you will have a great time. If you choose to forgo the rules, then we cannot guarantee that the animals will follow them too.
